SHIMANO DEORE XT RD-M786 GS | SGS 10-speed Rear Derailleur – Medium Length | Long

The XT groupset is SHIMANO’s flagship in the MTB sector. This claim is naturally reflected in the DEORE XT RD-M786 rear derailleur. It combines pretty much all the rear derailleur technology that Shimano has to offer. This has a clear effect on the extraordinarily high performance of this rear derailleur.

It is designed for use on MTBs with 1×10, 2×10 or 3×10-speed drivetrains and thus offers a wide range of ratios. It is characterised by fast and precise shifting processes. An 11-tooth idler and a damper counteract drive noise and provide a good portion of comfort. The SHADOW RD technology keeps the chain tension high even in rough terrain.

Both body and cage are made of aluminium. This gives the rear derailleur a weight of only around 266g. The flat design creates safety on narrow trails and also makes a very noble impression.

Furthermore, it is equipped with fluorine-coated pivot bushings. The rear derailleur rollers run on sealed industrial bearings. This guarantees a long life expectancy.

Only the SGS version with long cage is compatible with 3×10-speed drives.

Technologies

SHADOW RD PLUS
A stabiliser in the rear derailleur effectively prevents the chain from slamming off-road. This improves chain guidance and reduces the risk of the chain jumping off. In addition, the technology ensures less noise in the drive.
